Weight Management & Healthy Eating Hypnotherapy
Weight loss isn’t always about knowing what to eat.
You may already know what a healthy diet looks like.
You may have tried diets before. Perhaps you’ve lost weight successfully, only to find yourself back in the same patterns months or years later.
Because knowing what to eat isn’t always the difficult part.
Sometimes it’s the emotional eating.
The boredom eating.
The evening cravings.
The habit of reaching for something when you’re stressed, tired or simply looking for a little comfort.
Sometimes it’s the beliefs you’ve developed about food, your body or yourself along the way.
And sometimes you know exactly what you want to change, but somehow your mind and your habits haven’t quite caught up.
This is where individual Hypnotherapy can be useful.
A different approach to weight management
At LUX Therapy Clinic, I work with you as an individual.
There isn’t a generic script that I use for everyone, because your relationship with food is personal to you.
During our sessions, we can explore the habits, thoughts, emotions and patterns that may be influencing the way you eat.
Perhaps you struggle with:
- emotional eating
- eating when you’re bored
- cravings
- habitual snacking
- eating in the evening
- using food as a reward or comfort
- finding it difficult to stop eating when you are satisfied
- getting back into old habits after making progress
- negative beliefs about yourself or your body
- knowing what you want to change but struggling to make it stick
Your reasons may be completely different.
That’s why the work is tailored around you.
The aim isn’t to put you on another restrictive diet or tell you to simply have more willpower.
Instead, we work on developing healthier eating habits and a healthier relationship with food, while addressing the individual patterns that may be getting in your way.
Your four-week one-to-one programme
The programme consists of:
Four individual Hypnotherapy sessions over four weeks
Each session is tailored to your needs, your goals and the areas you want to work on.
There is no fixed script and no one-size-fits-all approach.
Your sessions may focus on different aspects of your relationship with food as we go along, depending on what you need at the time.
Because sometimes something you discover in one session changes where we need to go next.
This is your programme, so we adapt it to you.
The intention is to help you build healthier habits and behaviours around food that can support your own weight-management goals.
Results vary from person to person, and Hypnotherapy cannot guarantee a particular amount of weight loss.
And what about cravings?
Cravings aren’t always about hunger.
Sometimes they’re connected to emotions, routines, memories, environments or deeply established habits.
You might find yourself standing in the kitchen thinking:
“I’m not actually hungry… but I really want it.”
That’s useful information.
Rather than simply telling yourself that you shouldn’t eat something, we can explore what’s happening underneath the behaviour and work with the patterns that may be driving it.
Hypnotherapy can be used to support the development of healthier responses and choices around food.
Your mind matters
Your eating habits don’t exist in isolation.
Stress, emotions, tiredness, boredom, confidence, beliefs and daily routines can all influence the choices we make.
That’s why I don’t want to simply know:
“What do you eat?”
I want to understand:
“What’s happening for you when you eat?”
That gives us much more to work with.

I’ve been there too
I don’t talk about weight management from the outside looking in.
I’ve experienced my own struggles with weight, food and changing habits.
Over time, I lost 35kg (5 stone) and have maintained that weight loss.
That experience became an important part of why weight management became such a significant area of my work.
Because I understand that losing weight isn’t necessarily as simple as being told what to eat.
I’ve also experienced the importance of changing the relationship with food, rather than simply following another set of rules.
My experience is my own story, not a promise of what somebody else will achieve.
Every person is different.
And that’s exactly why I work with each client individually.
Would you like to add a Hypnotic Gastric Band?
For some clients, an additional Hypnotic Gastric Band session may be appropriate.
This is an optional addition to the four-week programme and is discussed as part of your individual treatment plan.
Despite the name, there is no physical gastric band and no surgery involved.
The session uses hypnosis to create a stronger sense of satisfaction and awareness around eating and portion sizes, as part of the wider work on healthy eating habits and weight management.
It is not intended to replicate or replace bariatric surgery, and it is not suitable for everyone.
If you are interested in this option, we can discuss whether it is appropriate for you.
This isn’t about being perfect
Healthy habits don’t require perfection.
There will be days when life gets in the way.
There may be celebrations, holidays, stressful days, meals out and moments when things don’t go exactly according to plan.
The aim isn’t to create another set of rules that you feel you’ve failed when you don’t follow them perfectly.
It’s about helping you understand your own patterns and developing healthier ways of responding.
One choice doesn’t define you.
And one difficult day doesn’t erase the progress you’ve made.

Is this right for you?
This one-to-one programme may be suitable if you:
- want to work on your eating habits and relationship with food
- are looking for an individual rather than a group approach
- recognise that emotions, habits or cravings may influence your eating
- want support with changing established patterns
- have tried diets before and want to explore a different approach
- are ready to make healthier changes but would like some individual support along the way
I work with both women and men, and the sessions are tailored to the individual rather than to a particular age, gender or diet.
